The StartUp_EU (Be a High Tech Entrepreneur) project partners are delighted to invite you to the project final conference that will take place in Porto on 3rd October at 3.30 pm, in the framework of the 7th European Conference on Games Based Learning.
“The earlier an entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged, the better the results for society” this is how the debate ‘Educating the Next Wave of Entrepreneurs’ ended at the World Economic Forum 2011. From this assumption StartUp_EU Project focused its attention to address the motivation of entrepreneurship and innovation within European secondary school students.
The StartUp_EU Project (Be A High Tech Entrepreneur) is an EU co-funded initiative and is designed to motivate secondary school students by replicating the excitement and creative innovation of a new startup company. Using an educational game, students will develop entrepreneurial skills on a Web2.0 technology platform; they will learn about entrepreneurship through inspiring and thought-provoking videos, online workbooks covering business and marketing plans and presentation skills (project brochure in attachment).
In this framework we would invite you to the StartUp_EU Final Conference to discover project achievements and future exploitation plans. We’ll also present a few of case studies and best practices arisen from the wide number of schools who participated in the mini-pilot and final competitions.
Developed in an interactive and engaging style, StartUp_EU final conference will also enable teachers, policy makers and relevant stakeholders to exchange their experiences and opinions about e-learning methodologies and practices. European teachers involved in the project will present their experience using StartUp_EU tools and methodologies with their students.
Last but not least, the event will end with the announcement of the winners of StartUp_EU Competition. The teams that have been shortlisted for the final evaluation by the external judging panel are:
Pangea (Granada College), Loud cloud (Granada College), NANALOVe (Riga Purvciems), Develop yourself (Riga Purvciems), Burleska (1st High School – Lodz), Power Energy (Agrupamento de Escolas Verde Horizonte )
Therefore, we would invite you to register to this workshop filling in the form here attached and sending it to Chiara Davalli, firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday, 2nd October 2013.
